Musical Instrument Workshops

Learn how to make and play your own musical instruments at Cobb+Co Museum

Music is found in every known culture throughout history, from the human voice to simple drums and flutes, to more complex musical instruments. Our musical instrument workshops capture the fun involved in making your own instrument by hand and learning to play it - laughter is guaranteed!

Meet your tutors

Depending on the specific workshop, your tutor is one of the talented Stewart family members. Graham Stewart (pictured) is an engineer, teacher, designer and tinkerer of all things interesting ancient and new. He has been researching interesting ancient technologies from around the world for 30 years, and developing current methods with current tools for participant abilities to make musical instruments, weapons, toys, puzzles, stoves and dwellings. Sons Abe Stewart and Nye Stewart are professional musicians, singers and songwriters. They have performed throughout the world in bands including Timbah.
