Have Another Look Captain Cook!

Monday 31 July - Friday 4 August 2017 from 9:30am – 2pm daily

 

Schools are invited to participate in Cobb+Co Museum’s annual celebration of Indigenous culture.

Through a full day of activities, students gain first-hand experience in traditional music, dance, storytelling, games, skills, crafts and more – all the things Cook did not see when he came here in 1770.

Students will be able to participate in several different Indigenous activities throughout the day such as:

  • Murri connection to country – tucker, medicines, tools and weapons
  • Indigenous games
  • Boomerang and spear throwing
  • Dreaming stories and art activities
  • Hands on activities using artefacts in the Indigenous gallery
  • A daily cultural performance with an Indigenous performer

Incorporating NAIDOC Week, National ATSI Children’s Day, and International Day for the World’s Indigenous People.

Cost: $2 per student
