Photographic tribute to an Australian legend now on display at Cobb+Co Museum

26 February 2015

New exhibition, One Man’s Mistakes, is an intimate portrait of the bushman, businessman, grazier, raconteur, author and one of Australia’s great legends, RM Williams.

Cobb+Co Museum Director Deborah Bailey said the exhibition features photographs by renowned Toowoomba photographer David Seeto.

“As RM Williams’ personal photographer for more than 20 years, David spent many hours with Williams at his property and the two became firm friends”, Deborah said.

“The exhibition also features fascinating insights into RM Williams’ reflections on his life, which he shared with David during this time.

“RM Williams’ elastic sided boots are famous worldwide and his name is synonymous with Australian bush culture and handcrafts, something that we at Cobb+Co Museum are also passionate about.

“People may not also realise the local connection with RM Williams, who spent many years living at Hodgson Vale just outside Toowoomba.”

One Man’s Mistakes is based on David Seeto’s recently published book by the same name. The exhibition is on display at Cobb+Co Museum until 12 July 2015.
